MAGUETTE PROJECT (1 of 4 parts)
Drawing Exercise - Continuous Line

Materials: A3 Paper, 2B/3B Lead Pencils.

Everyone in the class had to make their own unique maguette using only paper, tape and their hands - no scissors, no tools! The more abstract the better! We then had to draw our creations in different positions and angles using the continuous line method.

Year 11 Visual Arts Process Diary (VAPD) Notes:

Open form - negative space
Close form - little or no negative space

Open form - A lot of negative space, can be defined as light, transparent, void. We use curves, lines, circles, waves. Interconnectivity of elements in the form.

Closed form - Little or no negative space, can be defined as dense, solid, heavy. We use curvilinear/direct linear shapes, lines, intersecting planes.

Be careful of vertical and horizontal planes, give your eye something to travel.
