COLOUR BURST (3 of 3 parts) 2007 Materials: Acrylic on canvas panel
I really enjoyed doing the Colour Burst 3-part series. This was mainly due to the fact that I did very little painting during our Year 11 studies in Visual Arts at school, so this was an opportunity for me at home to experiment with my own paints and inspiration.
This is what I call "Palette on Canvas". Someone else (somewhere in the world) has probably already created/titled this, but hey that's what I call it. "Palette on Canvas" is basicly where the actual paint is mixed directly on the canvas where No palette is used. Meaning that you squeeze the paint straight on to the canvas and just start painting. In otherwords the canvas IS the palette itself.
This was the finished result of my first canva (of 3). Boring colours turned into new interesting colours. As I continued mixing and adding more and more painting, it was as if mini colour discoveries and revelations were unravelling.
The colour is great and lots of fun too. For those artists who just want "TO PAINT" (like a little 5 year old kid), buy a canvas today and start painting! (or use an old one). Try my "palette on canvas" idea and see what you create. Note: the other thing...is that you end up using all the paint you put out and nothing is wasted. Everything is out infront of you ON YOUR CANVAS!
"..every line means something and tells its own story."
btw, dunno if you know me... we have a class together (australian art history). i randomly found your page on here... hi!
have a great day.
I like the colours too. I should do more painting. havnt done much for ages. hehe
