Description

A GULF OF WORMS (13 of 14 parts)
2004
Materials: Lino Cut Printing/ Lino tile, Acrylic/lino paint, Cutting tools, roller.

I chose template (1) out of the three I had drawn.

I did this in Year 8 visual arts class. It was very fun and is still my first and only go at any kind of print media/making. You have to be careful with lino prints as the process can be annoying and tricky...however the result is 100% artistic enjoyment + satisfaction. Try it yourself.

Lino Cut Printing Process:

1. Draw design on lino tile
2. Cut out lines with tools
3. Roll printing ink over tile
4. Place paper over tile and apply pressure
5. Peel off
6. Allow to dry
7. Wash tile and CUT OUT colours you WANT TO KEEP
8. Ink tile with 2nd colour and repeat process

* Lino Printing creates a REVERSE IMAGE so writing should be back to front. Always cut AWAY from your hand.

* Each tile only gets ONE LIFE...so make sure you do multiple copies using a variety of different colours before you start cutting away!
